Organized since 1994, the leading fair in the ready-to-wear industry, Istanbul
Fashion Fair will be held at CNR Expo Exhibition Center between August 26 and
28. Visitors and buyer groups from the USA, Europe, Russia and Middle East are
expected give a great acceleration to the industry. With its twenty five years
experience in fair organizations, CNR joined forces with ready-to-wear
professionals, textile companies, textile accessory manufacturers and fashion
leaders for this great fashion rendezvous.
Aimed at increasing the turnover of Turkish textile industry in the short term,
the fair also targets to promote Istanbul as the world's fashion center in the
long run. The fair will offer many opportunities for established national and
international brands as well as emerging designers, and companies to introduce
their 2011 collections to Turkish fashion world. Like the previous fairs, this
year's fair will also attract visitors and media with fashion shows including
surprise celebrities.

Special Collection by Cemil Ipekci
The premiere night of Istanbul Fashion Fair will stage famous designer Cemil
Ipekci’s parade. The fair will open with an exclusive fashion show where
Ipekci's special collection titled "Yansima" (Reflection) including 35 pieces
entirely made of paper will be exhibited. The collection will be presented by
surprise names and be staged with a special choreography, including light and
shadow shows, designed by famous choreographer Yasin Soy.
Dreams Come True with MEL
Born in Brasil and manufactured 50 million pairs of shoes in 25 years, the
famous footwear brand MEL, an important name for the greatest
fashion and footwear fairs across the world, prefers Istanbul Fashion Fair in
Turkey. Shaping plastic with dreams, MEL invites shoe fans to
the magic world of footwear.
The Fair Including Famous Designers to Attract Global Fashion Professionals to
Istanbul
Recognized for her premium, elegant and striking collections designed for women,
the famous German designer Heidi Beck will be at Istanbul Fashion Fair with her
latest collection Eurasia. In the collection she prepared at her studio in
Cologne, Heidi Beck combines silk with a traditional fabric called "ikat" used
in Ottoman sultans' kaftans, which she discovered during her visits to Turkey.
The collection full of combinations bringing Europe and Asia together will be
offered to Istanbul Fashion Fair visitors' appreciation.
Iraq Conquest at Istanbul Fashion Fair
Shopping mall and shop owners, as well as wholesalers from the unexplored Iraq
market, which is still in the phase of reconstruction, are expected to come to
Istanbul Fashion Fair for buying purposes. Thanks to face-to-face marketing and
advertising efforts carried out by CNR in Iraq, 200 boutique owners from
Suleymaniya, Erbil, Baghdad and Basra will visit the fair.
The Fair Grew by 35 Percent
The fair, which added fabric and accessory groups to its scope upon requests
received from buyers, this year attracts especially large scale foreign
companies, which will come for ready-to-wear, fabric, tricot, denim and
accessory purchases. Istanbul Fashion Fair to be held with support from ITF fair
organization company, which has partnership connections with numerous countries,
achieved a 35 percent growth compared to the previous year. The fair to be
organized on a 12,000 m2 area with participation of fashion leaders is expected
to attract more than 10,000 visitors this year. |
